Accessibility Statement for The Detail Woman LLC

Website: https://sal.detailwoman.net
Last Revised: May 9, 2026

At The Detail Woman LLC, we are committed to ensuring that our website and all digital services are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. This document describes our accessibility practices, the standards we follow, and how you can provide feedback.

The Detail Woman LLC takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Clear accessibility targets and responsibilities exist within the organization.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) is a set of standards that must be adhered to in order to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities. There are 3 defined levels of conformance: A, AA and AAA.

The Detail Woman is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA. This means that there are some parts of the content that do not conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

While aiming for WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance, The Detail Woman LLC has also installed an Accessibility Toolbar using the Accessibility Tool Kit plugin for WordPress. This toolbar floats on the right-hand side of the page and allows users to adjust text size as well as view pages in high contrast or grayscale.

Known accessibility limitations

Features or content that do not meet accessibility standards:

  1. User comments:
There may be elements of comments posted by site users which are not compliant. Unfortunately we cannot control the quality of user contributions, especially in the event of spam comments. We do invest in a firewall and spam filter as well as read user comments to check for issues, but some issues may slip through the cracks. If you encounter an issue which interferes with your experience of the site, please report it to sal@detailwoman.net and we will investigate.
  2. Navigation of the home page with technologies that require landmarks:
We are aware of a WCAG Best Practices issue that affects the home page: landmark region containers are repeated inappropriately, meaning some assistive technologies may have trouble navigating it by page sections. This type of issue appears to affect a minority of pages on the site and is related to a problem with the Catch Everest WordPress theme we are using. We plan to replace this WordPress theme by the end of 2026 with a more accessible one that will remove this problem. The selection process of the new theme is currently underway.

Unresolved accessibility barriers due to budget or technical limitations (Disproportionate burden):

The current WordPress theme we are using does not natively support some WCAG 2.2 requirements, so until we have the resources for a full site overhaul, we are pursuing our accessibility goals through various plugins and manual CSS workarounds. This means you may encounter areas of the site where an element is not working as expected, but was missed in our manual review. If this occurs, please report the issue to sal@detailwoman.net for remediation.

Similarly, the theme is old enough that most “Best Practices” are not well supported. In the short term, we are prioritizing WCAG 2.2 AA Requirements rather than Best Practices. It is our goal to source a new theme which will enable us to follow all Best Practices and make the site as accessible as possible for all. This will require significant time and resources, because we want to get it right before going live with it and avoid the situation we have today where many issues need to be fixed in post.

We anticipate that fully implementing a theme that natively allows for full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance may take until Q3 2026. In the meantime, we will periodically review what improvements are possible using options such as YellowPencil Pro, a paid plugin we’ve invested in to increase color contrast, and we will check new pages using the Accessibility Tool Kit plugin.
